RAWALPINDI: Naheeda Bibi, 30, gave birth to four babies at the Gynaecology and Obstetrics Ward of Holy Family Hospital Rawaplindi on Thursday. Dr Fehmeeda Shaheen, head of the ward, told The Express Tribune that three of them were boys while one was a girl. All of them are severely underweight, each weighing around 1 kg. A healthy newborn weighs around 2.5kg. The mother too was in critical condition after the birth and was admitted to the intensive care unit of the hospital, as the doctors were having trouble controlling her blood pressure. About the quadruplet birth, the doctor said, “This usually happens when a woman during pregnancy take frequent doze of some medicines.”
