Police brutalise man for demanding food bill

The victim also appealed to the Punjab government and other authorities to take notice of the incident

A man was allegedly subjected to police brutality in Sialkot on Thursday.

Motra Police Station Sub Inspector Amir and policemen Zafar, Khalid and others ate food from a roadside eatery situated in Moza Daak Wala area.

However, when the owner presented the bill, the cops got enraged and started beating him. The policemen allegedly assaulted the victim and misbehaved with other customers sitting at the hotel. They forced them to run away from the spot.

After the incident, the police personnel fled the scene. Later, the victim submitted a complaint to Sialkot DPO Ameer Abdullah Khan who ordered an inquiry into the matter. The victim also appealed to the Punjab government and other authorities to take notice of the incident and provide justice.

Earlier, a man died due to alleged police brutality in Faisalabad.

Falak Sher, a resident of Salay Wala Road, was taken into custody by Thikriwala police for his alleged involvement in a robbery case. However, during the course of interrogation, police officials allegedly assaulted him.

Later, the police released the victim after reportedly taking a Rs50,000 bribe from his family. When Falak reached home, his condition deteriorated and he was immediately shifted to a private hospital for treatment. After struggling for his life for six days, he breathed his last.
