PM summons cabinet meeting tomorrow

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan has summoned a federal cabinet meeting on Friday to consider a 20-point agenda, including a briefing on relaxation in the visa policy and approval of a sports accord between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.

Adviser to the PM on Institutional Reforms and Austerity Dr Ishrat Hussain will present a report on reforms while the national anti-drug policy will also be presented before the cabinet. The cabinet will also be informed about the 2019 Hajj policy plan and briefed regarding inactive public institutions.

Approval for additional grant for the Prime Minister’s Youth Technical Training Scheme, appointment of the chairperson of the Port Qasim Authority and managing directors of the Pak-Libya Holding Company and National Investment Trust are also a part of the agenda.

The cabinet will also discuss the appointment of a deputy governor of the State Bank of Pakistan. A proposal for additional grant of Rs31.44 million for civil defence will be presented for approval. Endorsement of agreements with various countries is also on the agenda.
