Transporters in Balochistan are on strike for an indefinite period over incidents of robbery on several routes.

The call for the strike was made by Balochistan Goods truck owners association,  Quetta Karachi Coaches Association and All Balochistan Transport Action Committee.

The strike is supported by many including the ANP, BNP-Mengal and HDP alongwith Local Bus Union, Taftan Bus Union, Mushtarka Mazda Bus Union, Oil Tankers Association and Rickshaw Union.

Transporters complain the robberies have taken place on several routes and in most cases the drivers were either killed or kidnapped.

Transport in the province is at a halt and Nato's supply chain has also been stopped due to the closure of Dara Kosuk routes.
