LAHORE:

The district administration of Lahore has failed to make the shopkeepers close their shops by 8pm every night.

In an effort to control loadshedding, the federal government had announced an energy conservation plan last month. Under that plan, district governments were authorised to make sure the shops close by 8pm. For this purpose, the district government made 318 teams in Lahore.

However, the traders followed the order only for two weeks. Defying government orders, shopkeepers continue to open their shops after eight at night.

Moreover, teams have also stopped monitoring the timings of the shops.
