The forecast comes a week after residents of the port city had enjoyed first showers of the winter season. The joy was, however, short-lived as people in several areas across the city realised there was no power.
However, five people were electrocuted to death in rain-related incidents.
“Rain-thunderstorm (with snowfall over the hills) is expected at scattered places in Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Kalat, Makran, Naseerabad and Sibbi divisions), Sindh (Sukkur, Larkana, Shaheed Benazirabad, Hyderabad and Karachi divisions) on Wednesday,” the Met office said in a statement issued on Monday.

The PMD informed that the westerly wave is likely to enter western parts of the country on Tuesday evening, which will grip different parts on Wednesday and may persist in upper parts till Thursday.
Resultantly, widespread rain-thunderstorm (with few moderate to isolated heavy falls) is expected in upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat and Mardan divisions), upper Punjab (Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Lahore and Faisalabad divisions), Islamabad, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from Wednesday to Thursday night.
Snowfall over hills is also expected in Malakand division (Swat, Chitral, Kalam, Malamjabba and upper Dir), Hazara division, Murree, Galliyat, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the period, according to the Met office.
Rain, hailstorm jack up prices of fodder
Rain-thunderstorm is also expected at scattered places in lower Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (Bannu and DI Khan divisions) and southern Punjab (Multan, Bahawalpur, DG Khan and Sahiwal divisions) on Wednesday and Thursday.
The Met office has also issued a landslide warning for Malakand, Hazara divisions, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir on Wednesday and Thursday.
