ISLAMABAD: The Capital Development Authority (CDA) Chairman and Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Chief Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmed has directed to complete construction of the Khanna Interchange on the Islamabad Expressway by March 15 to ensure a smooth flow of traffic on the highway and to move a police station in the area.

During a visit to the under-construction interchange, the CDA Engineering Member briefed Ahmed that after completing the Koral and Sohan Interchanges, construction work on Khanna Interchange had begun.

Ahmed said that since March 15 was the deadline set for the project it should not be missed. He added that the interchange was expected to improve traffic flow on the Islamabad Expressway hence it was an important project.

He further directed to carry out landscaping around the loops of the interchange and adjoining areas and to install traffic signs to guide commuters.

He further instructed that CDA officials should coordinate with the Islamabad Traffic Police to ensure smooth flow of traffic in areas where people face difficulties during peak hours.
