QUETTA: Minister for Information and Higher Education Zahoor Ahmed Buledi has stressed the need for merit in selection of teachers.

In a statement on Saturday, Buledi said, “Without keen attention toward education we can’t make Balochistan prosper. Therefore, the provincial government has been taking serious steps toward educational development in the province.”

He added the government was striving for ensuring merit in all educational institutions. Appointment of principals and teachers on merit was the priority of the government, he said. “We have decided to focus solely on merit while appointing heads of educational institutions.”
