Twelve hundred kilograms of meat of turtles and pangolins worth Rs2 million has been stolen from the Sindh Wildlife Department's office in Karachi.

Wildlife department officials said the dacoits had overpowered the watchman before stealing the meat with police suspecting the crime was actually carried through an 'insider', according to Express News.

Three unidentified suspects held Abdul Qayum, the watchman, hostage.

The culprits then took away ‘dry’ meat of turtles and pangolins.

The wildlife department had seized the meat two months ago, which is commonly illegally transported to South East Asian countries owing to its high demand there.
