Bano, a resident of Lahore, had also been suffering from schizophrenia since the death of her son. She was staying at Fountain House, a Lahore-based facility for people living with serious mental illnesses.

Humaima Malick:
"Roohi Bano - the one I always wanted to meet. Watching her dramas and admiring her acting was all what I wanted. She will be missed! I wish I had met you, Roohi!

Fasi Zaka:
"Her life was a tableau of endless suffering; her art an incandescent testament to her talent. The gift of genius came with an exacting price - she fell deeper into the crevasses of her unquiet mind. May she truly, finally, be in peace now."

Not just celebs but fans also shared their love for the late star. The messages highlighted the hard time she had to endure during her life.
"Ironic how every related individual and organisation is showering best of the possible regards. Seldom did any of them do anything to help her while she was alive. The government needs to look into the welfare of national stars," a user wrote.
Another one shed light on how the veteran artists of Pakistani are left on their own, with no assistance from the organisations. "A wonderful artist Roohi Bano is no more. She led a tragic life. After attaining unprecedented fame, she faced personal problems that led to mental illness, abject poverty and a life spent in wilderness. May she finally find peace. God bless her soul," posted a fan while another added, "Sadly, our society is shaped such that the most deserving is honoured on his/her death or death anniversary, only and sometimes never. Roohi has gone through a lot. May God bless her soul."
