Fuel Theft: Gang busted for stealing train diesel

Police have registered a case against the accused and started an investigation.

KHANPUR: Railways police have busted a gang involved in stealing diesel from trains and arrested three of its members besides recovering 400 litres of diesel from their possession. According to railway police officials, a band of thieves were stealing diesel from the train power plants with the help of power plant operator Khalid Mahmood. On Tuesday, Mahmood and his accomplices stole 400 litres of diesel from the power plant of 8-down Tezgam Express. When they stopped at the local railway station to sell it to their permanent customers, Khanpur railway police SHO Imran Khan Jatoi caught them red-handed and recovered the fuel.  Police have registered a case against the accused and started an investigation.
