He assured of his support while meeting with PCB Security Consultant Col (retd) Asif in his chamber at the Sindh Assembly Building on Thursday.
Col (retd) Asif informed the chief minister that the West Indies Women Cricket team was to arrive in Karachi on January 30 and will be playing a few matches which will be followed by PSL matches. “Our police and Rangers have made a comprehensive security plan,” Shah said.
Earlier, Home Secretary Kazi Kabir chaired a meeting with the Security Coordination Committee to review arrangements. Police, special branch, special security unit, Rangers and a commando battalion of army will be providing security for these events. Helicopters will also be available to provide aerial cover. All routes to the stadium and hotels of the participating teams will be searched by bomb disposal squads and medical facilities will be available.
