ABBOTTABAD: After rains and snow, landslides in a densely populated area of Abbottabad city left three people, including children, dead. Locals said that heavy boulders came crashing down in the Usmania Mohallah of Abbottabad on Tuesday and tore through the roof of a house, burying Kali Jan and her two sons 17-year-old Khawaar and 14-year-old Mubashar.

Later residents of the area and police dug through the rubble to recover the bodies of the three victims. They were later shifted to their native village of Malsa in Galiayt for burial. Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (K-P) Assembly Speaker Mushtaq Ahmed Ghani, who hails from the city, sent a message of condolence to the victims’ family. Terming it a great tragedy, he announced compensation of Rs300,000 for the burial expenses.
