A man allegedly gunned down his sister for ‘honour’ in Rahim Yar Khan’s Khanpur tehsil on Monday.
A police official told Express News that 25-year-old Shazia Majeed, a resident of Chak No 96, had tied the knot with a man of the same area a few years ago. The couple also had a three-year-old son Shahzeb.
He maintained that the woman allegedly had an affair with another man and she married him secretly without bringing it to the knowledge of her family members.
However, when Shazia’s brother Saifullah learnt of the matter, he was enraged and decide to murder her as she brought disgrace to their family, the official mentioned.
He highlighted that on the day of the incident, the accused barged into his sister’s house and opened fire on her. As a result, she suffered multiple bullet injuries to the head and was killed on the spot. Later, the suspect fled the scene.
Meanwhile, the police have registered a case against the culprit and conducted raids to arrest him.
Earlier, a man shot his sister dead for allegedly maintaining relations with a man in Muzaffargarh. The incident took place within the Kandai police station precincts.
Accused Shoaib Ahmed, a resident of Moza Amirpur Daha, suspected the character of his 18-year-old sister Samina Bibi.
The accused suspected that the woman had relations with a man who lived in the same area. In a fit of rage, Shoaib opened fire on Samina, killing her on the spot.
