There are various questions pertaining to the tragic death
HYDERABAD: A couple of days back the news of mysterious death of a student from Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences, Jamshoro circulated in the media. Atif Arain, a third-year MBBS student from district Badin, committed suicide as early investigation report suggests. The deceased was living in a hostel. The apparent case of suicide raises a lot of questions about the mental health issues that students face and the circumstances that lead them to take steps as severe as taking their own lives. And secondly, how students can keep weapons on hostel premises?
There are various questions pertaining to the tragic death. This cannot be merely a case of suicide. If proper investigations are conducted much would unfold, and more students like Atif can be saved from such a fate. Such cases are one of the reasons to explain why educational institutions need to provide their students with counselling and therapy services to talk them out of the issues they silently suffer from.
