KARACHI: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail inaugurated the 'Sindh Pension Centre' at the Sindh Accountant-General's (AG) office on Monday. He appreciated the efforts of AG Sindh Ghufran Memon and his team for taking the initiative to ensure provision of pension to old-age retired employees of the provincial government hassle-free and under one roof. The governor said, "The pension payments are not only a financial benefit for the retired employees but also a token of appreciation for their years-long services for the organisation they served."

Sindh Pension Centre is the first-of-its-kind initiative under the administrative setup of the Controller General of Accounts and there are plans to replicate the centre throughout the province.

On the occasion, Memon gave a brief presentation of the overall system of the AG Sindh with a special emphasis on the Sindh Pension Centre. While briefing the governor, he said that the centre would provide relief to the pensioners of Sindh government as they would be able to get their pensions in the shortest possible time after submitting their case to his office. He also acknowledged the continuous support of the Sindh finance secretary towards the betterment of service delivery in the AG's office.

The event was attended by senior officers of federal and provincial governments.
