Perils of global warming

Pakistan is becoming increasingly vulnerable to climatic conditions

KECH: Carbon dioxide plays a critical role in regulating the earth’s surface temperature. Concentration of carbon dioxide is increasing in the air at an alarming rate due to burning of fossil fuel. Carbon dioxide allows the sun rays to pass through the atmosphere but it prevents the long wave radiations, reflected on earth from escaping into outer space and redirects heat back towards earth, and temperature of the atmosphere gradually starts increasing.

This rise in temperature from the greenhouse effect has a disastrous impact on agriculture and eventually on sea levels because of melting of polar ice. It also causes heavier rains, severe hurricanes and tornadoes. Pakistan is becoming increasing vulnerable to climatic conditions. We need to act fast. We need to act now.
