The meeting discussed devising a robust mechanism to discourage the alarming trend of drug use amongst students and curb menace of drugs. The meeting was also attended by the Anti Narcotics Force Director General Maj Gen Muhammad Arif Malik, Islamabad Chief Commissioner Amer Ali Ahmad, Islamabad Inspector General of Police Muhammad Aamir Zulfiqar Khan ANF North Force Commander Waqar uddin Syed, SSP Operations Islamabad) and other ministry officials.
Ministry of Narcotics Joint Secretary Sabino Sikanadar Jalal briefed the participants about the ongoing efforts of the ministry towards drug demand reduction. It was noted that the ministry in collaboration with ANF was striving hard to cleanse society from menace of drugs.
However, the role of Islamabad Police and ICT Administration cannot be ignored to join hands in hands to take on this challenge. The Chief Commissioner Islamabad and IGP Islamabad have also informed that they are already putting in their efforts in this regard.
