500 doctors to be hired on contract: CM Kamal

Task force formed to review reproductive health issues

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Jam Kamal Khan has said the incumbent government is taking solid measures to make sure proper health facilities across the province, adding doctors are being hired on contract basis to fill vacancies in district headquarter hospitals (DHQs).

“The cabinet has approved 500 contract vacancies for doctors in Balochistan that would fulfill the need of doctors in DHQs,” Kamal said in his tweet.

The CM termed the appointments a valid step for the betterment of provincial health department.

Task force for CCI decision

Following the directives of Balochistan CM, the provincial population department has established a task force to implement Council for Common Interests (CCI) decision to review productive health activities in Balochistan.

The task force comprising representatives of population, finance, education departments, chief secretary and members of UNFPA-United Nations Population Fund would hold session on a quarterly basis.
In a statement on Wednesday, the department claimed that a task force has been established to implement the directions of Supreme Court and CCI regarding health facilities in the province.

The task force would be responsible to increase contraceptive prevalence rate and decline the fertility and group rates in the province.

Upon the severity of rising population in the province, the CM Kamal had directed the department to establish the task force on immediate basis to monitor the reproductive health activities.
