FAISALABAD: All resources would be mobilised to strengthen the industrial sector and ensure sustainable growth in exports, announced Faisalabad Deputy Commissioner Sardar Saifullah Dogar.

Speaking at a meeting at the Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) on Tuesday, he said the textile industry, in fact, was the bread winner for the country and the government was trying its best to facilitate the sector.

He said Faisalabad, being the textile hub of the country, played a vital role in boosting the country’s economy.

Assuring his support to the industrial sector, Dogar said all the issues would be addressed on a priority basis. He assured businessmen of swift upgrade of the road infrastructure in all industrial areas of the city to facilitate the textile exporters.

The deputy commissioner stressed the need for promoting effective relationship between government institutions and the business community as they could produce much better results in collaboration with each other.

Speaking on the occasion, PTEA Chairman Khurram Mukhtar emphasised that the textile exporters would extend full support for the progress and development of the city. He pointed out that various mega projects had been launched to provide all basic amenities of life including health, education, roads and potable water.

Pointing to the dilapidated condition of roads in industrial areas, he said road infrastructure was the prime source of transportation of export consignments, especially in the industrial areas, as it played an important role in transporting the export cargo.
