Commission formed to regularise PM's Bani Gala residence

ISLAMABAD:
The Interior ministry on Tuesday formed a federal commission to regularise Prime Minister Imran Khan's Bani Gala residence.

According to a notification, the commission comprises 12 members with the chairman of the Capital Development Authority as its convener.

The commission will present recommendations for regularising all illegal structures built in Islamabad Capital Territory.

It will also prepare recommendations to review the master plan of the federal capital.


They will be formulated keeping in the view the requirements of Islamabad for the next 20 years.

Earlier on November 19, following the directives issued by the top court, Prime Minister Imran Khan submitted an application to the Capital Development Authority (CDA) to regularise his Bani Gala properties.

He had submitted the documents of his 1,200 canal residence and an adjoining drawing room building to the development authority.



According to sources, the premier submitted documents regarding ownership of the property, mapping and other important papers to the authority, while the CDA in light of the orders issued by the apex court has initiated the process to regularise Zone Four of Bani Gala.
