BAHAWALPUR: Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said that there is huge potential in agro-based industries. Every possible step will be taken to develop such industries in Bahawalpur.

He expressed these views while meeting with a delegation of industrialists on Sunday.

Speaking to the delegation, the chief minister highlighted that industries hold great importance in national and economic development. He maintained that the government will provide all possible facilities to industrialists. “With the implementation of the new policy, industries will be promoted in the province,” he said.

He added that by producing quality seeds, we can take cotton crops to the next level. The Punjab government has established a taskforce in this regard, he said.

The chief minister also visited the Laal Suhanra National Park where he planted a sapling to kick off the plantation drive. Speaking to the media, Buzdar revealed that restoration of the park will be completed soon. He maintained that in the past, many sectors including the park, have been neglected. “Thousands of saplings have been planted in a short amount of time. These plants are necessary for countering pollution,” he said.
