Quality education ‘to groom talent’

Opposition leader Sikandar urges institutions to get ready for challenges

QUETTA: Balochistan Assembly opposition leader Advocate Mailk Sikandar Khan has stressed the need for quality education in the province. There is no shortage of talent. If the students are given opportunity they would earn a good name for the country, he said.

He was speaking at the annual result and prize distribution ceremony of The Knowledge School on Friday. Sikandar lauded the school for promoting quality education in the province

The Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) leader stressed that along with education practical work is essential for the new generation.

Sikandar said: “Students who are the architects of future should concentrate on their education for the development of their province”.

In his speech, he cited examples of Muslim scientists making contribution in the field of education. He said: “Islam has given education a lot of significance”. However, Sikandar said “today Muslims all over the world are slaves because of their distance from education”.

It is important to give education utmost importance and put Balochistan on the road to progress, he said, adding that in order to tackle the future challenges, trained and skilled people were needed and that is only possible with the functioning of quality institutions.

Later, he distributed prizes among top students of the school.
