The local government recently decided to seal all illegal colonies, buildings and CNG stations in the area.
Local administration officials said that they had received orders from the city district government to issue closure notices to buildings in four towns.
According to officials in Nandipur, Khayali Shahpur, Qila Town and Aroop Town, several illegal plots were sold out in nearly fifty housing colonies in the last two months.
“Registration of any new property has been banned in these illegal housing societies,” said Khayali Shahpur administrator Salman Azhar.
“We have decided to seal all properties violating NOC bylaws and without approved maps of construction. This includes illegal plazas, buildings, markets and CNG stations,” he said.
In this regard Nandipur town spokesperson sub engineer Azhar Hussain Cheema said that in Nandipur, seventeen illegal buildings, plazas and CNG stations had been issued notices for seven days and would later be sealed. Azhar sai the department had earned Rs2.4million and 150 maps had been submitted for approval.
