The petitioner stated that Shehbaz’s appointment as the chairman of the committee is illegal, adding that producing the PML-N leader’s production orders was a violation of accountability laws.
The petition further added that a reference should be prepared regarding the violation of Section 31 of the NAB ordinance.
Stating that Shehbaz's production orders should be declared void, the petition added that the accountability court should be directed to take action against the PML-N president according to Section 16(B) of the NAB ordinance.
“Chief secretary Punjab should be instructed to arrest Shehbaz and submit him to relevant authorities," said the petition.
As long as there is a conflict of interest, Shehbaz should not be allowed to lead PAC and all benefits of being a PAC chairman should be revoked, the petitions elaborated.
In its first meeting, PAC calls NAB to explain delay in inquiries
The petition has named Prime Minister Imran Khan’s secretary, the ministry of law, speaker National Assembly and Shehbaz as respondents.
In its first decision, the PAC on Friday decided to summon NAB to explain a delay in finalising investigations in dozens of cases that the last two PACs had referred to the anti-corruption watchdog for an action.
After much ado, Shehbaz elected PAC chairman
Shehbaz, who came to chair the PAC meeting from jail, decided to call NAB on Tuesday. Shehbaz, who is also leader of opposition in the NA, is also facing corruption charges levelled by NAB.
