Manchester United's interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be the happiest man if the club are able to end the ongoing season in the top four.

The feat will push United directly into the Champions League, which will be a big achievement for the Red Devils considering they had their worst start in the Premier League this season post-Alex Ferguson era.

Lack of performances saw the Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho get fired, making way for the former United star Solskjaer to hold the reins.

Under his management in the last two matches, United have registered convincing victories against Cardiff (5-1) and Huddersfield (3-1) which has given hope to the fans of the club.

However, Solskjaer has an extra motivation to help the club finish in top four since he will earn an extra £2 million, claims the Daily Star.

United (32) are currently eight points behind the fourth-placed Chelsea (40).

Liverpool lead the table with 51 points in 19 matches, while Tottenham are second with 45 points.
