Peshawar youth kills five family members before committing suicide

Initial reports suggest Abdullah was suffering from psychological issues

PESHAWAR: In a tragic incident, a 10th grade student in Peshawar shot dead five of his family members before committing suicide on Wednesday.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police said Abdullah killed his father; three brothers and an uncle in Gulay Baba area of Tehkal. Initial reports suggest he was suffering from psychological issues.

The bodies were shifted to Khyber Teacher Hospital. The deceased were identified as Jan Muhammad, 55, son of Sher Zada, Faqir Zada, 45, son of Sher Zada, and Jawad Khan, 16, Luqman, 10, Zebullah, 16, Abdullah, 24, all three sons of Gul Zada.

Last month, Punjab Police’s Dolphin Force shot dead a mentally challenged youth in Lahore’s Sabzazar area. The knife-wielding man had attacked one of the police officers, causing injuries to him. The personnel fired at the assailant, who received a bullet to the chest and died on the spot.
