TURBAT: Legendary Pakistan Test batsman Hanif Mohammad, widely known as the ‘original Little Master’, was born on December 21, 1934 in Junagadh, India and had died on August 11, 2016 in Karachi, at the age of 81, plunging the cricket-loving nation into mourning.

The Little Master played for Pakistan in 55 Test matches between 1952–53 and 1969-70 and scored 3,915 runs at an average of 43.98. He also hit 12 centuries in his career. At his peak, Hanif was considered one of the best batsmen in the world and he played at a time when Pakistan had few Test cricketers.

The right-handed batsman was one of the country’s early cricketers who played an integral role for Pakistan in achieving Test status. On December 21, as the world remembered him once again on his birth anniversary, he is missed by millions of his fans. May his soul rest in peace!
