"Thank you Shah Rukh and team Zero for giving me the opportunity to share screen space (even if it was for a few minutes) with the legend and my all time favourite Sridevi, we miss you. Zero was the last film of Sridevi, who died at 54 in February this year. The actor will be playing herself and share the screen with SRK, Alia Bhatt and Karishma Kapoor.
Also featuring stars such as Anushka Sharma and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles, Zero is directed by Anand L Rai and has cameos by multiple Bollywood celebrities, including R Madhavan and Abhay Deol.
Other than Zero, it was later reported that the late actor had also signed another film, tentatively titled Shiddat. But due to her untimely demise, Madhuri stepped in Sri's shoes for the role.
The movie’s star-studded cast includes Alia Bhatt, Varun Drawn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Aditya Roy Kapur.
According to Hindustan Times, the movie is set to be a period drama set in the 1940s, with partition serving as the backdrop and Manish Malhotra is designing the look for the entire cast.
