A British man who allegedly broke into a funeral home to have sex with a corpse has been charged with the crime, Mail Online reported.


Khurum Shazada, the accused, is believed to have penetrated a corpse as well as trespassing into the Central England Co-operative in Great Barr, Birmingham.


The 23-year-old jobless man has been linked to the parlour by DNA evidence, according to reports.


A spokesman for West Midlands police said that, "An unemployed Birmingham man has been charged with sexual penetration of a corpse and trespass following a break-in at a Co-op funeral parlour in Great Barr on Sunday 11 November."

"Khurum Shazada appeared at Birmingham magistrates' court on Wednesday 21 November and was remanded into custody," the spokesperson added.


Shazada is due to give a plea in court.


It is understood relatives of the desecrated body have been informed of the crime.
