Twitter loses cool after Naseeruddin Shah calls Kohli 'worst behaved player'

Noted film actor Naseeruddin Shah waded into a controversy by calling the Indian cricket team captain Virat Kohli the “world's worst behaved player,” Times of India has reported.

In a Facebook post, the actor stated, “Virat Kohli is not only the world’s best batsman but also the world’s worst behaved player.” He added, “Kohli’s cricketing brilliance pales beside his arrogance and bad manners... And I have no intention of leaving the country by the way.”



Soon after the Ghalib actor's comments, Twitter lit up with various reactions. While some strongly agreed with Shah's remarks, others failed to see his point. "Aptly put by Naseeruddin Shah. Love Kohli the batsman, hate Kohli the person," a user wrote.

Ashok Swain agreed. "Naseeruddin Shah is absolutely right. Virat Kohli is a terrible role model for India's youth," he tweeted.

Another user added, "Very strongly agree with Naseeruddin Shah Saab. Worst word is not enough for this brat. There should be a new word above worst for this brat called Virat Kohli."

"Naseeruddin Shah says Virat Kohli is the world’s worst behaved player. I agree. He’s bringing to Indian cricket a culture that we will live to regret. His tantrums are as obnoxious as his tactics," a user agreed with Shah's statement.

Many also slammed Shah for commenting against Indian skipper. "Somebody please give some work to Naseeruddin Shah. He wants to come in limelight by passing such stupid remarks. I respect your work but you should not spoil your image with such acts. Focus on your work and in your life," commented a user.

"Though Kohli is bad at behaving according to Naseeruddin Shah , Kohli is undoubetdly very good at playing cricket winning laurels to India. Shah needs to think of Kohli as as a national champion of cricket rather than poking nose in to his personal affairs," wrote a user.
