SRK, Kajol to replace Irrfan, Saba as lead pair in 'Hindi Medium 2': Indian media

Producer Dinesh Vijan has approached the stars to play the lead pair in the upcoming installment of the social drama

Bollywood's 'it' reel-life couple, Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol are apparently gearing up to share the big screen one more time.

The duo might be seen in Hindi Medium 2, the sequel to the Irrfan Khan, Saba Qamar-starrer 2017 film. According to a report in Bombay Times, as quoted by Times of India, producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films has approached the Dilwale stars to play the lead pair in the upcoming installment of the social drama.

As per the same report, the two actors have already participated in the initial reading sessions.

However, that doesn't mean we won't Irrfan in the second part of the film. The actor will be a part of the sequel. The actor will reprise his role in the new story that will reportedly be set in the US.

Saket Chaudhary, the director of the prequel, has been replaced by Homi Adajania, who has earlier helmed films Cocktail (2012) and Finding Fanny (2014) for the film production banner.

The Zero actor and Irrfan have earlier worked together in 2009 film Billu. Off-screen too, the two share a great rapport.

A couple of months ago, there were rumours that Shah Rukh had given the Piku actor the keys to his London house where the latter is being treated for neuroendocrine tumour.
