Fateful events of history

Letter December 18, 2018
With one tragedy after the other, one wonders how many more are needed to wake up the state from its deep slumber

PAKENHAM, AUSTRALIA: Another year has gone, begging justice for the victims of the Peshawar school attack back in 2014. As many as 144 innocent lives were lost on the fateful day of December 16, 2014. The act was so barbaric that even to this day, all its details have not been revealed. Parents of the martyred children are still protesting, staging sit-ins from time to time in the federal and provincial capitals. With one tragedy after the other, one wonders how many more are needed to wake up the state from its deep slumber.

The day coincides with another very sad day in Pakistan’s history, the fall of Dhaka. The topic itself demands detailed analysis of how the most enthusiastic supporters of the idea of Pakistan parted their ways.
