Viral video: Man assaulting, abusing girl flees country

ISLAMABAD: A man, who had assaulted a student of the federal capital with the end of a pistol and posted a video of abusing her on social media, has apparently fled the country despite the fact that the police was informed about the case in time.

According to a first information (FIR) report filed at the Ramna Police Station, Wasif Abbasi had allegedly assaulted a student in Sector G-11/1. University student ZJM*, who had lodged the complaint, told the police that Abbasi was courting her and had asked her to marry him.

ZJM further told the police that Abbasi had initially told her that he was unmarried. But when she tried to verify that claim, she discovered that not only was he married but also had two children. When ZJM refused to marry Abbasi because he was already married, he started threatening to kill her. The threats got to a point that ZJM said she stopped going to university out of fear.
