Six security personnel martyred as convoy attacked in Turbat
The ISPR says four terrorists were also killed in exchange of fire
Six security personnel were martyred as their convoy was targeted following an operation in Turbat, Balochistan on Friday.
"An intelligence based operation was conducted on terrorists' hideout in Wakai area near Buleda [area]," the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.
"Terrorists targeted one of the vehicles of security forces through IED [improvised explosives device]," the military's media wing said. "Six security personnel embraced Shahadat. In exchange of fire, four terrorists killed."
The deceased have been identified as:
1. Naib Sebedar Gul Shahadat resident of Karak
2. Naik Laal Khan, Lucky Marwat
3. Naik Sajjad , Lodhran
4. Sepoy Anwar, Karak
5. Naik Nawaz, Tonsa Shareef
6. Sepoy Sajjad , Sialkot
Four 'terrorists' killed in Awaran anti-terror operation
In September, four terrorists were killed in a security operation in Jhao near Awaran district. Sepoy Ramz Ali was martyred, while another Naik Yaqub sustained injuries in the IBO.
The security forces had conducted the IBO in the southwestern province against Baloch Liberation Front (BLF) militants and recovered cache of arms and ammunition. The BLF is a militant group founded by Jumma Khan Marri in 1964.
Similarly, on July 3, six security personnel were martyred and two others injured in a rocket attack in Awaran. A bomb disposal team was searching the Kure area, located 30 kilometres from Tehsil Mashkay area of Awaran, when unidentified armed men fired a rocket from the nearby mountains that landed and exploded near the team.
