Hospital without doctor

Letter December 15, 2018
The authorities concerned should look into the issue and ensure immediate solutions

KECH: A small town of district Kech named Sharak has only one government hospital and that too with no doctors. Residents of the town are living without accessible doctors and are deprived of basic health facilities.

I recently visited the town and the locked doors of the hospital caught me by surprise. According to residents, they have been facing a number of problems regarding healthcare. They have to cover long distances and travel all the way to Turbat even for a general check-up. This is not only costly but can also be fatal for patients who need immediate professional help.

The authorities concerned should look into the issue and ensure immediate solutions. Just constructing a hospital building is not enough, it should have certified professional doctors.
