International Students Convention kicks off in Islamabad

ISLAMABAD: International and local students from across the country thronged the Pakistan-China Friendship Centre on Wednesday as the International Students Convention and Exhibition kicked off in Islamabad.

The event was organised by Pakistan IUCPSS in collaboration with COMSATS, Paigham-e-Pakistan, the Punjab Higher Education Commission (HEC), Pakistan Institute of Parliamentary Sciences (PIPS) and top-ranked universities of the country.

International student convention: ‘Youth should be taught entrepreneurial techniques’

State Minister for Interior Shaheryar Afridi along with Punjab Higher Education Commission (HEC) Chief Professor Dr Mohammad Nizamuddin, Parliamentary Secretaries Wajhia Ikram and Farrukh Habib attended the inauguration ceremony.

Speaking on the occasion, they appreciated the initiative and urged provision of more such opportunities for the youth in every sphere of life.

Interacting with the delegates, Afridi stated that Pakistan is a land of peace, diversity, rich culture and tolerance. He urged the participants to promote a positive image of Pakistan as a peaceful country.

Ikram said that teachers are playing vital for the character-building of the youth.

“Youth is the real asset of the country,” she said and advised the students to think about their future goals.

Earlier, PTI MNA Habib asked the youth to work hard while following the vision set by Allama Muhammad Iqbal.
