LAHORE:
Commerce Secretary Mohammad Younus Dagha visited the Lahore office of the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) on December 11, 2018. During the visit he held meetings with leading textile related trade bodies of the region including, LCCI, WCCI-Lahore, Aptma, PRGMEA, PSGMEA, PCMEA and PHMA in order to discuss the second edition of TEXPO, which is scheduled to be held in Expo Centre Lahore from 11 till 14 April, 2019. TEXPO is TDAP’s first ever product specific exhibition for the promotion of Pakistan’s most significant export sector ie textiles. The textile industry enjoys an almost 60% share in Pakistan’s total exports; also Pakistan is one of the very few countries of the world which houses the entire value chain for textile products having top notch brands like Gul Ahmed, Sapphire, Chen One etc. It is hoped that through the combined efforts of industry stakeholders and the Ministry of Commerce, the regional launch of TEXPO under the banner of Emerging Pakistan will mark a major milestone in TDAP’s efforts for export promotion and trade enhancement.
