LAHORE: The media industry, by all means, has every right to talk about anything they find important, yet the debate in public discourse should rather not deliver a wrong message. Recently, morning shows have been under fire for raising issues, but for all the wrong reasons, and influencing forming of inappropriate opinions among the viewers.
With all the money that the media industry and TV show hosts make, they are also morally responsible for creating the right sense of awareness. Further, where Pemra does regularise the content for various reasons, social aspects must be kept in consideration too.
It is for this that there’s a clear divide among the TV audience in Pakistan. At the one end are those who find such content entertaining and on the other are those who are aware enough to differentiate between right and wrong.
