While speaking on floor of the National Assembly, the federal minister said that Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Khawaja Saad Rafique and his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique were taken into custody after their protective bail application was rejected by an accountability court.
On Tuesday, the Rafique brothers were arrested by the National Accountability Court (NAB) after the Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected the plea in the Paragon City housing scam.
Earlier today, an accountability court in Lahore sent Saad and Salman on a 10-day judicial remand.
Nawaz, Zardari contested their last elections, claims Fawad
Fawad went on to say that only after hearing the former railways minister's lawyer's arguments Saad Rafique's bail application turned down.
He further said the graft watchdog is completely insulated from the government, adding,"The current NAB chairman was appointed by their [PML-N] own government."
The information minister added that the PML-N did not have any reservations over the country's apex anti-graft body until it began proceedings against leaders from their own party.
"The way in which Pakistan has been looted in the last 10 years is there for all to see," Fawad hit out at the PML-N and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP).
He said the masterminds behind the plunder had been given the top slots by the PML-N government.
