He expressed these views while addressing the 41st passing-out parade at the Elite Force Razzaqabad Training College on Tuesday.
Police continues raids across city
Elaborating on the government's decision to establish a forensic laboratory, Wahab said they wanted to provide the tools necessary to utilise scientific methodology in investigations. Lauding the contribution and sacrifices of the police in bringing peace in the province, particularly through the on-going operation against terrorism in Karachi, he assured that the government would put its best foot forward to ensure improvements in the police department.
The IGP said he was appreciative that the Sindh government had approved increased salaries, emoluments and granted him their full support.
Talking to the media, Wahab said the Sindh Police was moving towards excellence and added that an anti-riot force training school had been established. He said that a decision had been made to reschedule Anti-Terrorism Act (ATA) to curb street crimes and added that it would be applied in case of use of arms in street crimes. He told the reporters that mobile and motorcycle markets would also be regulated.
