LUX Style Awards announces categories for 2019

Genres will encompass awards in fashion, film, music and television

KARACHI: The Awards Office of the LUX Style Awards has announced the categories for the upcoming year. The genres covered at the star-studded, high wattage event will encompass awards in fashion, film, music and television simultaneously, stated a press release.

This year, the Awards Office updated several categories to reflect the changing realities of the industries. Best Actor Film (Critics) & Best Actress Film (Critics); Best Actor TV (Critics) & Best Actress TV (Critics) have been added to the Film and TV categories. These will be in an addition to the Best Actor and Best Actress Film & TV category, which will be based on People’s choice. Accolades for Best Supporting Actor (Film) and Best Supporting Actress (Film) are currently under review by the jury.

A category for Best Emerging Talent in Television has been added to the TV genre as a nod to the growth and importance of television in the life of the Pakistani consumer. Introducing the new categories by the LSA is a recognition of the outstanding talent as a means of further motivating the industry.

In the genre of Fashion, Best Designer Lawn category has been eliminated and Best Bridal has been upgraded to Bridal Couture to reflect the growing couture work carried out in the Bridal category.

Most revered Lifetime Achievement Awards will be titled as Lifetime Achievement in Fashion and the Unilever Chairperson’s Lifetime Achievement Award. These accolades are awarded to the artistes of distinctions for meritorious service in the Entertainment genre.

Method of submission:

The eligibility criteria requires the content to have been aired/released/viewed/heard between January 1, 2018 and December 31, 2018. LSA nominees for each category are determined by members of the relevant Jury, who in turn are selected by the esteemed LUX Style Awards Board of Governors.

The jury ensures that there is no bias and that these selected minds pick the work that is par excellence in the industry.

Send in submissions by following the steps below:

1. Submissions need to be uploaded on the Luxstyle.pk website, in the respective category/categories


2. Submissions must be uploaded before midnight on January 20th, 2019

The LUX Style Awards for fashion, film, music and television will be held in the third quarter of the year 2019 and aired on a national network.
