ISLAMABAD: Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce and Trade Abdul Razak Dawood on Monday invited Japanese businesses to explore the opportunities in Pakistan. The adviser was speaking at a seminar titled ‘Trade and Investment Opportunities in Pakistan’ at the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) Japan, a message here from Tokyo said. He elaborated the economic agenda of the new government and how it was determined to overcome the current economic challenges through development focused strategies. “The balance sheets of multinational corporations in Pakistan reflect that they are making profits,” he said. “Pakistan has graduated from traditional sectors of textile and leather to the export of engineering goods.” The adviser further invited Japanese companies to look into the IT Sector, SMEs and agriculture value chains for investment.
