KARACHI: An alleged absconder, who got injured in a raid led by Sharae Noor Jahan Police in North Nazimabad, died during medical treatment. The accused, identified as Zaheer Shah alias Zeeshan, 19, son of Haji Gul Khan, succumbed to his wounds in Abbasi Shaheed Hospital on Sunday. The police raid took place on Saturday evening in Block D, North Nazimabad, where the accused was arrested in injured condition. The police also recovered a TT pistol and a motorcycle from his possession. His accomplice escaped taking advantage of the darkness. Zeeshan was a resident of Peerabad.

Meanwhile, two accused were arrested in injured condition during a raid led by Steel Town police. The injured accused was transferred to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre. The Malir district Senior Superintendent of Police Irfan Bahadur said that the injured were identified as Muhammad Ali Akbar son of Barkat Ali and Fazalur Rehman son of Amanullah. The injured were looting the residents when police arrived on the spot and arrested both of them. Two pistols loaded with bullets, looted cash, mobile phones and a stolen motorcycle was recovered from their possession. The two were wanted in many cases of robberies, terrorism and other heinous crimes.

Search operations continued in different areas across the city in which the police arrested five accused and recovered looted goods, drugs, weapons, and cash. Sharafi Goth police recovered two pistols from the possession of arrested Zeeshanur Rehman alias Langra and Shams alias Aslam during an operation near Babar Kanta located in Korangi Industrial area. The police claim that both the accused were involved in street crimes.

Abdur Rehman was one of the accused from whom 90 grams of hashish was recovered in an operation carried out near union council nazim's house. SITE Super Highway police recovered a pistol from Muhammad Kashif in a separate operation. Memon Goth police recovered weapons and looted cash up to Rs42,000 from arrested robber Shahzaman.

Malir SSP said that the accomplice of Shahzaman escaped. The search operation is still underway.
