In a statement outlining the month’s report released on Sunday the authority informed the public about the Online online licencing system to make the process of getting a food licence easier for sellers and manufacturers of foodstuffs
Moreover, a mobile application has also been launched which the public can use to register complaints. As per the report, the food authority had seized 30,000 packets of Monosodium Glutomate (Chinese salt) which were being supplied from Lahore to Peshawar.
Also, around 10,000 kilogrammes substandard spices, and 6,000 litres of milk were disposed of during various raids in different parts of the provincial capital. As many as 1,000 notices had been issued to businesses and outlets during last one month. Following the direction of the KPFA Director General, Riaz Mehsud, the food watchdog took actions against leading hotels as well as herbal shops and godowns even during late evenings.
