KARACHI: The 25th convocation of the Indus Valley School of Art and Architecture (IVS) took place on Saturday at its campus in Clifton.

This year the graduating class comprised 109 students.

Dr Saleemuz Zaman Siddiqui Award for outstanding dissertation went to Mahnoor Raza Abbasi. Taha Iqbal was awarded the Agha Hasan Abedi Award for excellence in architecture, with a cash prize of Rs200,000 sponsored by the INFAQ Foundation. The Zahoorul Akhlaq Award for best drawing portfolio was awarded to Ayesha M Aliwon. She also received the Abu Shamim Ariff cash award of Rs20,000 for best research in fine art.

Graduation day: Over 150 get degrees at SMME-NUST convocation

Asim Muhammad Ameen, from the Department of Fine Art, won the Founder's Award.

The IVS Alumni Award went to Fatima Azeem and Asim Muhammad Ameen. Aamina Amir won the Thariani Award for architecture design excellence. The recipient also received a certificate carrying a personal message of appreciation by Saleem Thariani along with a monetary incentive of Rs50,000.
