QUETTA: Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Nawab Aslam Raisani has said some hidden powers were deliberately attempting to spoil peace in Mastung by carrying out criminal activities in his constituency, adding that such acts cannot distract him from working for the people.

Chairing a meeting in Mastung Deputy Commissioner Office on Wednesday, the MPA said since he emerged victorious in by-polls, some hidden powers had started criminal activities in Mastung. He stressed that such vicious attempts cannot prevent him from addressing public issues.

“For the past few weeks, people in Mastung and other areas of my constituency have witnessed a surge in criminal activities, including target killing. This has increased the sense of insecurity among our people,” Raisani said. He slammed the provincial government for not tackling the security issues in Mastung.

Deputy Commissioner Qaim Lashari, SP Inayat Bugti, educational and health officials were present on the occasion. During the meeting the officials informed the MPA about their departmental issues.
He demanded of the government to form a two-member high court bench to probe the recent surge in violence in Mastung.

The former chief minister said his party would continue its efforts for revamping administrative affairs of Mastung district. He vowed to provide all basic facilities to the people.

“We have to focus on development projects to impart a better future for our coming generations,” Raisani said.

Meanwhile in a news conference, flanked by former MNA Hamyoun Aziz Kurd and Sikandar Mullazai, Raisani said efforts for a strong federation cannot succeed unless the federal government delegates powers to the provinces barring defence, foreign affairs and finance.
