QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan and founder of Overseas Pakistani Baloch Jumma Khan Marri on Tuesday discussed the political situation in Balochistan and ways to appease the anti-state forces into laying down their arms and joining the mainstream.

CM Kamal met Marri on the sidelines of the three-day Shanghai International Conference being held in Moscow. Kamal is in Moscow to attend the conference being held from December 4-6.

During the significant meeting in the Russian capital, Kamal and Marri discussed political scenario in Balochistan and the recent attack on Chinese consulate in Karachi carried out by the banned Balochistan Liberation Army.

Both leaders vowed to speed up political efforts to appease the anti-Pakistan movement in Balochistan into laying down their arms and joining the mainstream.

Marri promised to discuss Pakistani government’s initiative for provincial development in the European Parliament.

The CM thanked Marri, promising government’s full support in any attempt that could lead towards a peaceful solution to the Balochistan crisis. Marri, a leader of an insurgent group in Balochistan, had fled to Russia years ago and had vowed to struggle for peace in the province.
