DUBAI: The Masala! Awards are held in Dubai annually to bring together the best of Indian and Pakistani entertainment.

Last year, the ceremony saw a memorable appearance by late superstar Sridevi. Other Bollywood bigwigs such as Manish Malhotra, Govinda, Boman Irani, Celina Jaitley and Arjun Rampal also attended the awards, alongside local starlets Mahira Khan, Saba Qamar and Mawra Hocane.

This year, the stage is set to host diva Kareena Kapoor, Pakistani designer Faraz Manan and local stars including Sheheryar Munawar, Osman Khalid Butt, Amna Ilyas, Ayesha Omar and PR mogul Frieha Altaf.

Faraz will also serve as a jury member for the awards. He is said to have a special surprise in store, for the first time. Masala! will host a fashion show where Faraz will get to showcase his Spring and Summer 2019 couture collection.

“It is a perfect fusion of East and West. I am sure it will appeal as much to the Subcontinent as it will to the Middle Eastern region. In short, it works for everyone,” read a statement by the celebrated couturier. Kareena is also said to have a special act planned for her fans in the UAE.

From the Pakistani sphere, the Ho Mann Jahaan's Sheheryar will be present as well. The actor was recently seen opposite Mahira in Saat Din Mohabbat In and is currently shooting with Maya Ali for the Asim Raza-helmed Paray Hat Love.

Osman, star of Balu Mahi and Baaji, will also  be gracing the red carpet with model-turned-actor Amna. Frieha will reportedly be presenting an award at the event as well.
