Six wanted bandits nabbed from Kacha area

Police said culprits belonged to notorious Sukhani gang who had been operating in Kacha for a long time

RAHIM YAR KHAN: At least six wanted bandits have been arrested by police from Kacha area, Express News reported.

Sadiqabad ASP Hafeezur Rehman said Bhong Police Station SHO Naveed Wahla and his team conducted a raid at a hide-out in Kacha area and nabbed six bandits while arms and ammunition were also seized from their possession.

The ASP added that the accused were identified as Sanaullah, Yaseen, Musa, Abu Bakar, Ghulam Hussain and Teesa. He revealed that the culprits were involved in committing robberies and criminal activities in the area and evaded the police several times.

Hafeezur Rehman pointed out that the bandits were also wanted by the police for a number of kidnapping for ransom cases. He said that the accused used to commit robberies and would take shelter at hide-outs established near the bank of the river.

The police official mentioned that the culprits belonged to the notorious Sukhani gang who had been operating in Kacha for a long time.

Meanwhile, the ASP lauded the efforts of the police team in apprehending the bandits. He said that the police will utilise all the resources to root-out criminals from the region.

Earlier on November 26, a wanted criminal was killed in a police encounter in Mandi Bahauddin.

District Police Officer Nasir Siyal said that the police received information that a wanted outlaw, Hasnain Asghar, was spotted near a canal in Petrol Pump Mangat area.

He added that after receiving the tip, a police team, under the supervision of DSP Rana Shabbir Ahmed and SHOs from different police stations, rushed to the spot to nab the culprit. However, he maintained that when police officials reached the area, the accused and his accomplices opened fire on them.

The DPO pointed out that the police retaliated and a shoot-out occurred. During the encounter, accused Hasnain sustained bullet injuries and was killed on the spot, while his accomplices managed to escape under the cover of fire and taking advantage of darkness.
